Christ went out into the highways and byways calling all who were heavily burdened to come to him for his yoke is easy and his burden is light. He immersed himself into the midst of broken and hurting humanity, accepting all and making no distinction as to race, sex, age or social standing; freely accepting all and rebuking only those who would place themselves above those he ministered among.
Therefore Christ calls the pastor to follow his example and immerse themselves in the midst of a broken and hurting humanity making no distinction as to whom they minister to and share their lives with.
Christ calls the pastor to neither set themselves apart from and in doing so set themselves above those they are to minister; nor to expect any to come to them. Rather Christ calls and empowers the pastor to follow his example in setting foot along the highways and byways immersing themselves into the midst of the community in which they are placed.
