Perhaps more so now, than any other time in our global history, we need to raise up in prayer. Our Christian leaders need to lead the way in a loud clarion call to prayer. We saw this recently in Sydney. A hostage taker took hostages in the Lindt Cafe. Local churches opened. Leaders twittered we are open for business. A call to prayer was given. And many responded.
But, where is the continual call to prayer – ISIS is still brutal and reveling in their brutality. Boko Haram is just as brutal in Nigeria. We need to pray that the leaders of these, and the many groups like them, encounter the living Christ. All through the world, Muslims are encountering Christ through dreams and visions.
Do we dare clothe ourselves with power from on high. Do we dare immerse ourselves in power from on high. Do we dare kneel before the living God and ask that he will answer our prayers and the world be changed through the power of Jesus Christ. May God convict us of our powerlessness in our prayer life. May God convict us of our prayerlessness. And may God empower us to pray.
Father God, I pray that the leaders of Boko Haram, ISIL and other Terrorist and Islamic communities will come to know you. May they encounter the truth of Christ. Be filled with the spirit of Christ. Be converted soundly in Christ. May they encounter you in dreams and visions. May the fear of you stop them in their tracks. For only in you, can true peace be found. Not by might, not by power – but, through your spirit.
