Friend and fellow blogger

A friend and fellow blogger Brian Fulthorp from συνεσταύρωμαι: living the crucified life has had his blog suspended. Through talking with him last night, it seems that Word Press’s automatic spam bot detector wrongly detected his blog as doing the wrong thing. It’s a terrible experience when your blog is suspended or your access to them are permanently denied. For a variety of reasons outside of my control, I don’t have access to two of my older blogs. It’s extremely frustrating indeed. For the record, I  believe that Brian’s blog was wrongly tagged. He was honoring Gordon Fee and had re-blogged an article from Pneuma magazine. He clearly referred to them in his post and I don’t think he is guilty of plagiarism of any kind.

However, Brian’s experience highlights a danger for us all and his experience should give us pause to reflect as to how we blog – or re-blog and refer to information from another site. Brian, our thoughts and prayer are with you brother. I pray that you will have favor with Word Press and get your blog back without any real drama’s.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Brian.

I’ve visited Brian’s blog many times and that’s unfortunate. Looking at Pneuma, they clearly display copyright. I’ve ran into this with WordPress and quotes, but here it sounds like an entire article was lifted? That would be definite infringement. If Brian contacts WordPress and commits to removing the content, they should release his blog as long as there isn’t additional infringements.
