The peace of the Spirit.

One of the greatest promises we have as Christians is the promise of peace in the midst of strife and trouble. However the promise of peace comes at a personal cost. It may involve walking away from a discussion or argument where you want to say the last word – and even when you feel that word is a real humdinger which will settle the arguments of arguments – you feel the gentle conviction of the Holy Spirit encouraging you to shut up and leave it be.
It could be that the Spirit of God is encouraging you to bless someone, to forgive someone – even when every fiber within you is screaming out for revenge and retaliation. It could be that the Lord wants you to deal with that anger issue. That bitterness issue. That argumentative issue. It may mean that the Lord wants you to become peaceable within the framework of your own actions and reactions. Your own speech and thought patterns.

My prayer this morning was Lord search my heart and reveal to me who I need to forgive. And under his guidance and conviction I forgave those who came to mind and spoke a blessing over them in Jesus name… Try it if you dare to want peace in your life.
