Robert Richardson, who is a refired from retired Pentecostal minister, and who is also a friend and mentor wrote the following on his Face Book page this morning.
When the Son of Man Comes will He find faith (fidelity) on the earth?
When the Lord said, “…when the Son of Man comes will he find faith on the earth?” What was he really saying? Is it possible that we have lost the plot and gone our own way concerning the building of God’s house? I feel today we have neglected the building of God’s house, by not doing the “Great Commission”. We have been robbed of faith and concentrated on our own problems rather than being obedient to God’s word. (Jesus) We have seminars on just about everything to do with our own spiritual health and neglected the main reasons why God wants’ us on the earth, to simply be “obedient to God”, to “worship Him” and do the “Great Commission”.
After all, Jesus said; “…go and make disciples of all nations…”Matt.28:18.
In Adam Clark’s commentary of Luke.18:8, “Will the Son of Man find faith on the earth”, he states; “To require the produce of the seed of the Kingdom sown among this people, or rather, ‘Shall He find fidelity in this land?’ Shall He find that the soil has brought forth a harvest proportioned to the culture bestowed on it?” In the Collins Dictionary it states that fidelity means; “Faithfulness, and the quality of sound reproduction.”
Has God found that the soil has been tilled? Has there been good correct sowing of God’s word? Is there a harvest of souls to reap on the earth? This is what Jesus meant when He said; “Will the Son of Man find faith (fidelity) on the earth when He comes”. God help us to do your “Great Commission”.
There is a fear of reaching out
There is a fear of reaching out amongst many Christians and we justify it by saying; “that’s not my gift”. We must all understand as Christians, God wants us to simply be available to do his will and use the gifts he has given us. God knows we are not all evangelists but this should not stop us from becoming available. Be prepared in the future, for a worldwide scattering of Christians. It happened in the book of Acts chapter eight, and it most certainly can and will happen again. THE HARVEST IS RIPE…
Clap clap clap Robert. I believe that one of the true hall marks of being filled with the Spirit of God is a yearning to reach out to the lost and be used as a catalyst to draw them into his Kingdom.
