We are called to be a people of the Spirit. And one of the marks of living in the Spirit is that of communal living. For the Spirit dwells within the Trinitarian Godhead, which is deeply communal. Therefore the natural outworking of the Spirit of God working in, through and over us, should be marked by a communal lifestyle, in which there is no superiority; rather, instead, this lifestyle should be marked by a richness of mutual service to and for each other.
For its within this very framework of mutual service, that the Spirit of God manifests himself through us, for the benefit of each other. The more we lay our lives down for each other, the more the Spirit of God will move within our midst, through us and in us for each other. And it will be within this context that the people of God will be known for their love.
