It was a perfect autumn day so apart from doing some very minor plastering of wall cracks, and replacing two bathroom tap washers, I spent most of the day outside in the garden.
I replaced the garden tap washer, sprayed some roundup and some once a year path weeder on the paved areas.
The lemon tree was heavily pruned and when I attacked what I thought was a lime tree, I pleasantly discovered it was a mandarin tree. It was heavily pruned at the base, and the garden bed underneath cleared away. I started to cut down a small Jacaranda tree which had sprouted behind the potting shed. The saw isn’t the sharpest and spot was awkward, so I will finish the job in the week. It has to come out, because its root system will destroy the retaining wall in which it sprouted. The previous owners had planted a lot of succulents including Aloe Vera which had taken over, so most of it was cleared away. In the process I made a crude temporary compost bin, which will do for now.
Mr’s B came out and helped plant a few flowers and pots and in general it was a pleasant way to spend the afternoon. Its dark now, so photos will be posted tomorrow.
