The pastors role is to teach God’s people to see.

I believe one of the integral roles of the pastor is to be a person who see’s. Within the framework of seeing, the pastor is to be a person who teaches the congregation to see. For we are called to be a people who see. We are called to be people who see God. We are called to be a people who see ourselves as God see’s us. And we are to be a people to see each other and the community in which we live as God sees.

Seeing carries a deep responsibility of action. For within the framework of seeing: seeing means we are to act. No matter our calling, vocation, position in life, we all are called to see and respond to what we see. What is our response to injustice? What is our response to the hurting, the poor, hungry and homeless whom we see?

So I ask you! Are you a person who truly sees?
