Esau I hate: But Jacob I loved!

In my previous post I wrote about the similarities between Romans 9 and Ephesians 1. In following that post, I want to comment on this passage from Romans.

Not only that, but Rebekah’s children were conceived at the same time by our father Isaac. 11 Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad—in order that God’s purpose in election might stand: 12 not by works but by him who calls—she was told, “The older will serve the younger.”[c] 13 Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”

Romans 9 contains a passage about God hating Esau; but loving Jacob  The question in regards to God hating and loving Esau and Jacob needs to be asked in regards to what was the purpose of Esau’s future linage : which he so carelessly threw away… and who was it who came from the linage of Jacob?

It’s only when we answer this question do we understand the purpose of God’s Election and to whom it is God has truly Predestined and the answer to that question is Jesus Christ.
