Around and about….

Marc Cortez has linked to a number of interesting articles. One in particular that caught my attention is from David Fitch who is asking if the current push for Leadership is Biblical. This article strikes a cord with me; in that I have what I call a “Soap box angst” for the returning of the office of pastor and the necessary skill set to be a pastor.

Brian Fullthorp talks about how higher seminary education contributes towards lower pastoral burnout and Brian Leport asks the questions about Pentecostalism and their reticence towards academic Biblical studies. He speaks a little of his own experience in breaking free from that cultural mindset.

Speaking about poor Pentecostal hermeneutics and practice’s Scotteriology has a short video link which is worthwhile watching… I am glad to say that this sort of thing hasn’t really been embraced by Australian Pentecostals… or has it?

Ben Witherington has moved from Beliefnet to here.

Joel Watt’s makes an observation about death existing in the Garden of Eden and Roger Olsen makes some pertinent points about the miss use of the term Liberal / Liberalism within a theological sense

Josh Dowton asks the questions about why it takes disasters to see humankind at our best… and of course Jim West continually blogs about humanity at its worst…T.C brings some insight of the problem of evil and the justice of God in the face of human tragedy in his weekly excerpt from Tom Wright.
