I was sitting in church yesterday and scribbled a few notes down about how every nation, every people group, every gender, and every age group are united equally in the bondage of sin.
So while ALL have sinned and fallen short of Gods purposes for us, equally Christ frees ALL who believe. We who believe are equally united in the freedom from the penalty of sin through total forgiveness, which ultimately means eternal life.
Thus eternal life frees us from the bondage of death that accompanies sin. Therefore while we who believe are united together with the world in the stain and bondage of sin, which affects us all, there is now a division between those who accept forgiveness and those who don’t.
Being a believer no longer means we are sinless, for John the Apostle writes to believers saying, “If we say we have no sin then the truth is not in us, but if we sin and confess it to God, who is faithful and just and will forgive us of all unrighteousness”
A result of this freedom should mean that as believers we are able to engage gracefully with every person through every area of society, no matter the nation, societal class, gender or age….not demanding any one change. Instead accepting that we are united with society through sin, we also are called to share the same grace we have received to what ever area of society we live with grace.
